Life Fitness Summit Trainer Combines Cross-Training, Climbing into One Cardiovascular MachineSummit Trainer Presented at 2007 IHRSA Convention & Trade Show
|
SAN FRANCISCO - March 29, 2007– Making its IHRSA show floor debut, Life Fitness presents the Summit Trainer – an intuitive machine that combines the best of total body cross-training and climbing with an upper and lower body workout that simulates a trek in the mountains.
"This is an incredibly versatile product," said Bob Quast, senior director, cardiovascular product management for Life Fitness. "User-defined stride lengths and a variety of training positions allow exercisers to control their workout intensity and target different muscle groups for a truly personalized workout that meets their exercise goals."
The Summit Trainer lets users define their own stride length, from short, quick strides to deep lunges, and a maximum stride length of 26 inches offers an extensive range of motion. The machine's design lets users exercise in multiple positions to target different muscle groups and achieve different training intensities while biomechanically correct moving arms provide a synchronized total-body workout. The unit's natural climbing motion is comfortable and intuitive even for first-time users, and Linear Incline Fit Training Technology makes going from short strides to deep lunges fluid and smooth.
Among the product's 27 exercise programs are four goal-based workouts and five Zone Training+ workouts, which automatically adjust the product's resistance to keep users in their target heart rate zones. The Summit utilizes Life Fitness' patented LifePulse digital heart rate monitoring hand sensors, which are conveniently located on the unit's bullhorns to deliver precise heart rate monitoring, and Polar telemetry provides accurate hands-free heart rate monitoring.
"The Summit Trainer offers a unique and effective exercise experience for users of varying fitness levels," said Quast. "It's an exciting addition to our core group of cardiovascular fitness products."
The Summit Trainer is available in three models: the 95Li with a traditional LED console, the 95LEZ with attachable LCD-TV and the advanced 95Le with a 12.1" integrated LCD screen, which allows for viewing workout information or watching TV.
